Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist Job Opportunity

Sterling Medical is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare organization, you will play a vital role in assessing and treating children with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.

Job Summary

The Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing differential diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatients and outpatients. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Diagnosis: Evaluate children with central or peripheral speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. Administer appropriate test instruments to determine the degree and type of impairment. Prepare detailed diagnostic reports.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop treatment plans tailored to individual needs. Prioritize and coordinate patient caseload to minimize delays in intervention. Modify therapy goals through periodic re-evaluation.
  • Patient and Family Counseling: Inform patients and their families about available treatment options. Provide guidance on managing communication challenges.
  • Education and Training: Design and deliver training programs for speech pathology interns. Stay updated by participating in educational opportunities and professional organizations.
  • Quality Improvement and Compliance: Continuously evaluate and enhance processes. Develop policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal requirements.
  • Patient Education: Facilitate a healthcare partnership by educating patients and families about therapeutic exercises, activities, and equipment.
  • Administrative Responsibilities: Document patient encounters according to policies. Provide requested statistics. Familiarize yourself with billing mechanisms to optimize cost-effectiveness.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • A master's degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Be certified as a SLP (CCC-SLP) through ASHA
  • Any US State License
  • 2 years within the past 5 years working with age group 0-3
