Key Responsibilities:
The Bulk Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market is tasked with supervising the upkeep, packaging, and stocking of all bulk food items available at our stores. This role involves adhering to the merchandising Bulk plan, ensuring that your team accurately packages and weighs bulk products, fills bulk bins, and prepares, wraps, and labels bulk packages in a clear and precise manner.
You will be responsible for ordering and managing inventory, rotating products based on code dates, and implementing the company's cleaning and sanitation protocols.Additionally, you will oversee the department's adherence to all company and regulatory safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL compliance standards.
It is essential to communicate expectations, standards, policy updates, and product knowledge to your team members effectively.
You will also ensure that bulk items are well-prepared, packaged, and displayed, while maintaining a clean and organized Bulk area at all times.
Regular tasks include receiving, unloading, and stocking merchandise as needed throughout the day.
Engage with team members through coaching, constructive feedback, and individual development discussions, and provide recommendations for merit increases through the bi-annual performance review process.
Participate actively in store meetings and collaborate with the Store Manager in recruitment, hiring, and promotion decisions.
Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns and document corrective actions when necessary, working alongside business and HR partners to manage performance, including coaching, counseling, and progressive discipline when required.
Maximize productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members consistently.
Lead a collaborative team dedicated to delivering the highest quality products, exceptional service, and an outstanding experience for our customers.
Qualifications:
To qualify for the Bulk Manager position at Sprouts Farmers Market, candidates must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Have 1-2 years of experience in a retail grocery setting and at least 1 year of managerial experience
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays
Have knowledge of weekly promotional items and be able to assist customers in locating products throughout the store, while maintaining general housekeeping in the department.
Must possess the ability to adapt to a flexible schedule that changes with business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Have a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales figures, and financial objectives.
Exhibit outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards team members and customers.
Be capable of moving products weighing up to 50 lbs. both vertically and horizontally, for distances up to 4 feet, for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
This role requires continuous standing for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
Be prepared to perform other related duties as assigned.
