Job Description

Apotheco Pharmacy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Pharmacist to join our team in Manhattan and Midtown New York. As a Lead Pharmacist, you will be responsible for overseeing and providing direction related to quality, clinical, and compliance for Apotheco Pharmacy operations initiatives in compliance with state and federal laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and Direct Staff: Manage a team of technicians, patient care coordinators, and customer service representatives while on duty.
  • Adhere to Policies and Laws: Adhere to all Apotheco policies and applicable laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy.
  • Maintain a Safe and Clean Pharmacy: Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations designated by the Board of Pharmacy.
  • Record Keeping and Cash Handling: Maintain records by recording and filing physicians' orders and prescriptions, and responsible for all cash transactions and depositing of all transactions.
  • Medication Management: Ensure medication availability by delivering medications to patients and departments, and perform final check on prescriptions annotating on the prescription and scanning in changes.
  • Customer Service and Communication: Counsel patients on all new prescriptions, and communicate effectively with customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure overall compliance with state and federal statutes, and oversee pharmacy team operations compliance, including transferring prescriptions, handling inbound/outbound physician calls, efficient drug utilization management, safe dispensing, and providing accurate and timely medication dispensing.
Requirements:
  • Strong Drug Product and Clinical Pharmacy Knowledge: Strong knowledge of drug products and clinical pharmacy principles.
  • Familiarity with Clinical Program Components: Familiarity with clinical program components, formulary designs, prescription benefit trends, and PA programs.
  • Time Management and Communication Skills: Strong time management and written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to Handle Confidential Information: Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, including MS Windows, Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Interpersonal and Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership and Team Building Skills: Strong team building and leadership skills.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Strong customer service orientation and commitment to professionalism.
