Salary: $42,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description:

The Cook position at Briarcliff Skilled Nursing Facility is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to join our food service team. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals that cater to the dietary needs of our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare food in accordance with standard menus and specifications, facility procedures, and prescribed dietary and sanitary regulations;
• Follow recipes and ensure proper storage of food and supplies;
• Supervise serving of meals by wait staff and direct cleaning work areas, equipment, and floors;
• Evaluate all food production to ensure quality, temperature, and appearance are preserved;
• Ensure proper use of 3 compartment sink and clean-up of cooking pots & pans;
• Assist other department staff as needed to ensure timely production, service, and clean-up;
• Close the kitchen (PM shift) in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

• One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred;
• Food handlers' card required, or Food Safety Certification where required by local ordinance;
• Fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene;
• Tactful communication skills with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public;
