Job Summary

Ascension Seton is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. You will assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis. You will implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment, monitor, record and communicate patient condition, and perform advanced respiratory care modalities. You will also evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome. Additionally, you will educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs. You will respond to emergency resuscitation team code.

Responsibilities

Provide evaluation of and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
Assess patient for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis.
Implement and monitor patient care plan and equipment.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
Evaluate respiratory practice, administration of medications, and treatment based on patient outcome.
Educate the patient and family about the health condition and provide information about community support groups and other available programs.
Respond to emergency resuscitation team code.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Respiratory Care Practitioners Certification Program obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional/temporary license will be accepted until license is issued.
Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
