Job Summary:

The Aerial Conduit Operator is tasked with managing the machinery necessary for the installation of aerial conduits, cables, transformers, pull boxes, transformer pads, and switchgear colors for clients.

This role supports the Line team and collaborates with personnel within the department.

Responsibilities:


Safely operate jobsite machinery, including mobile cranes, bulldozers, angle dozers, front-end loaders, backhoes, excavators, track hoes, trenchers, digger-derricks, or other construction equipment.

Conduct service, safety inspections, and minor repairs on machinery, checking oil and fluids.
Examine digging sites to confirm they have been staked/located prior to excavation.
Stake/locate work areas before commencing digging.
Assist the maintenance crew or work as a laborer when not operating machinery.
Excavate around all live utilities, both underground and overhead.
Provide training, guidance, or oversight to lower-graded operators and laborers, as necessary.
Adhere to proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to MasTec or the customer, whichever standard is higher.
Load trucks in a safe and accident-free manner.

Proactively enhance operations, reduce turnaround times, streamline work processes, and collaborate to deliver quality seamless customer service with timely execution.

Perform additional duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 year of relevant experience.
Valid driver's license.
OSHA 10 Certification.
Preferred
2 or more years of experience.
CDL Class A driver's license.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
This position operates in a field environment.

This role frequently requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and twisting.

Additionally, it involves working in adverse weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.


The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.

Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and spatial relationships.

Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
