Position Overview

As a Range 2 classroom educator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing student achievement and educational outcomes aligned with the school's strategic objectives and state-wide educational priorities. A key aspect of this position involves expanding the staff's understanding of student learning and effective instructional practices, thereby assisting the school in defining exemplary teaching methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

As a Range 2 classroom educator, you will be expected to:

  • Possess the necessary content knowledge and teaching strategies to cater to the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Exemplify outstanding classroom practices and provide mentorship to fellow educators, encouraging reflective practices and enhancing staff capabilities.
  • Offer expert guidance on content, methodologies, and strategies that will influence both individual and collective professional development.
  • Oversee and mentor one or more student teachers.
  • Assist colleagues in utilizing student performance data to inform instructional approaches, ensuring that targets for improved student learning outcomes are met.

Additional Duties

The responsibilities of a classroom educator may encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Direct instruction for groups and individual students.
  • Contributing to the creation, implementation, and assessment of curriculum areas or other educational programs within the institution.
  • Carrying out other teaching-related and organizational tasks as directed by the School Principal.
  • Engaging in activities such as parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, and school events.
  • Performing non-teaching supervisory responsibilities.

Applicants must be currently registered or eligible for registration with the relevant teaching authority and possess qualifications or demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum areas.
