Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an Ambulatory Care RN, your role will involve preparing patients for surgical, endoscopic, and interventional procedures. You will also oversee Phase II and III recovery and facilitate outpatient discharge.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting prompt assessments of patients returning from the operating room or diagnostic procedures and documenting findings.
- Ensuring safe nursing care and a secure environment for patients and their families.
- Transcribing and implementing physician orders while accurately documenting all patient-related information.
- Administering medications and IV fluids in accordance with nursing protocols.
- Updating and revising care plans as necessary based on ongoing patient assessments, including preparing patients for discharge.
- Responding effectively in emergencies and utilizing critical thinking skills to identify and mitigate potential issues.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program: Associate degree in Nursing or higher.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- A minimum of one year of experience in Critical Care or PACU Nursing is strongly preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
