Position Overview:

Ozarka College is currently seeking applications for the role of Nursing Education Instructor at the Melbourne campus. This position operates under the guidance of the Division Chair of Allied Health and is dedicated to ensuring high standards in teaching and learning by delivering quality, relevant, and impactful instruction in assigned courses.

Role Responsibilities:

The Nursing Education Instructor is a nine-month appointment with a teaching load of at least 15 hours per semester. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting both classroom and clinical instruction.
  • Developing and assessing course materials.
  • Participating in campus committees and activities.
  • Facilitating student internships and other assigned duties.
Specific Duties:

Develop comprehensive course syllabi, teaching resources, and related activities while providing instruction for both developmental and college-level courses as necessary. Encourage student involvement in professional organizations to enhance their educational experience.

Coordinate clinical or internship placements for students as applicable, and provide leadership and oversight for all assigned program courses. Collaborate effectively with the Director of Nursing Programs and Division Chair of Allied Health to enhance and promote the curriculum and program offerings.

Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the continuous improvement and quality of assigned programs, and provide effective advising and registration support for Ozarka College students.

Engage in college committees as assigned to support programs and services that foster student development within the college community.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a Registered Nurse with a current, unencumbered license to practice in Arkansas.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
  • Current knowledge of nursing practices.
  • Preferred teaching experience in higher education.
  • Must pass background checks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
  • Proficient in computer use related to position requirements.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to learning and the community college philosophy.
  • Proven ability to assist students and faculty effectively.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
