Role Summary

As a pharmacist within our Long Term Care Pharmacy, you will thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, playing a crucial role in achieving pharmacy management's objectives. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Accurate processing of medication orders
  • Ensuring the security and compliance of pharmacy operations
  • Adhering to delivery timelines
  • Verifying the accuracy of orders entered by pharmacy technicians
  • Reviewing all new and refill prescriptions for completeness
  • Ensuring the accuracy of drug packaging and labeling
  • Preparing sterile IV medications as needed
  • Maintaining inventory for controlled substances
  • Understanding DEA regulations and state laws regarding medication dispensing
  • Providing coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Complying with all applicable regulations, including HIPAA
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Key Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering exceptional service, ensuring that patients receive the correct medications safely and efficiently. Success in this role requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Education and Experience

A Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy is required. Candidates must hold an active pharmacist license in the state of Georgia, with additional licensure in Alabama and Mississippi preferred. Experience in IV preparation and long-term care pharmacy is advantageous.
