Job Summary

We are seeking a Day Habilitation Specialist to join our team. As a Day Habilitation Specialist, you will work with adults diagnosed with intellectual/developmental disabilities to help them achieve their personal goals and become self-sufficient.

Key Responsibilities
  • Help program participants achieve and exceed their personal goals
  • Provide structure and emotional support to individuals
  • Assist in resolving behavioral issues and promoting positive behaviors
  • Help individuals with personal hygiene and daily living skills
  • Complete detailed and accurate documentation
  • Transport individuals to and from volunteer and pre-vocational activities using Agency vehicles
Requirements
  • Clean, valid NYS Driver's license
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Some experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population preferred; but will train
  • Ability to assist with lifting and transferring an adult person
  • Prior experience as a Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide or Companion is a plus
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm

Salary Range

Competitive hourly rate with some programs/locations offering a differential
