Job Title: Ironworker

MOR PPM, Inc. seeks an experienced Maintenance Electrician for a full-time position in Georgetown, SC. This role requires general millwright knowledge and experience with welding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Cut metal plates, angle iron, and other materials for construction projects.
  • Choose materials for building new products or repairing existing ones.
  • Build models and molds for casting concrete or other materials.
  • Prepare metal surfaces for welding, cutting, soldering, grinding, brazing, and polishing.
  • Examine engineering designs to ensure welding requirements are met.
  • Use shaping and cutting tools to assist with welding tasks.
  • Aid in production and mold different fixtures.
  • Use a gas torch and welder to fuse metal objects.
  • Utilize welding devices to prepare new items and restore damaged alloy items.
  • Use various hand and power tools to complete tasks.
  • Use a welding flame to cut metal by specifications and diagrams.
  • Help remove soft metal for welding.
  • Analyze completed products and inspect them for quality.
  • Manage welding operations, including finished goods and small parts.
  • Assemble old units and perform modifications and repairs.
  • Apply insulation materials while working with metal sheets.
  • General Millwright knowledge and skills.
Experience:
  • Work experience as a metal fabricator or similar role.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Excellent welding skills and expertise.
  • Ability to use various fabrication tools.
Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:
  • Must complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSign.
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to perform technical duties and essential functions.
  • Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
  • Must have full range of motion consistent with age.
  • Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders.
  • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms, and job-related noises.
  • Visual acuity, depth perception, and color discrimination consistent with working at heights and on uneven surfaces.
  • Safety/Steel toe shoes are required. Fire-resistant shoes may be required.
