Position Overview:

The Cloud Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in project and service teams, collaborating with our strategic banking and financial institution clients to design and implement transaction banking, cash management, and treasury solutions. This role demands expertise in the domain while guiding the technical architectural design and execution, including integrations, migrations, technical configurations, and addressing non-functional requirements.

This position offers flexibility in terms of location, allowing for remote work within the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Architect will acquire and utilize product knowledge to develop effective solution architecture designs that align with Bottomline's transaction banking platform capabilities.
  • During implementation and testing phases, the Architect will contribute to defining and documenting customer architecture requirements.
  • Collaboration with banks to create, review, or internalize requirements and perform gap analysis between the bank's needs and Bottomline's offerings will be essential.
  • Engagement in change management discussions, assessing the impact of requirement changes on solution design.
  • Accountability for contributing to Integration Design Documents, System Architecture Documents (SAD), and other necessary artifacts. Proficiency in creating UML, Use Case, and Activity diagrams is preferred.
  • Foster strong relationships with cross-functional teams and clients to enhance collaboration and identify opportunities for improving efficiency and processes.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Preferred experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge in areas such as treasury, capital markets, cash management, payables, receivables, liquidity management, securities, or investment banking.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to research, analyze, and propose solutions to newly identified challenges.
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and technology, with knowledge in:
    • Data model design for relational databases like Oracle and proficiency in standard query languages.
    • Java, JavaScript, and web application architecture.
    • Application server environments such as Apache, WebSphere, WebLogic, and Tomcat.
    • Systems integration experience, including schema definition and design, REST, SOAP, MQ, and standard file formats.
    • While not strictly a development role, familiarity with programming in standard languages, particularly Java and JavaScript, is desirable.
    • Knowledge of security and encryption standards (e.g., SSL, SAML, OAUTH, JWS).
    • Understanding of communication and messaging protocols.
    • Willingness to travel as necessary.
