LOGISTICS ASSOCIATE
We are looking for a proactive and driven individual to join our team as a Logistics Associate. This role involves managing warehouse operations and driving company vehicles. The ideal candidate should possess strong attention to detail and thrive in a dynamic work environment. Applicants must have a clean driving record. Previous experience in a driving role is advantageous.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistics Associate is responsible for the receipt and distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and products within the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
- Interpreting production schedules, customer orders, and shipping requests to identify items for movement and distribution.
- Transporting materials and items from receiving or production areas to designated storage locations.
- Organizing and categorizing materials on racks, shelves, or bins based on size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Fulfilling requisitions and distributing items to production staff or assembly lines.
- Compiling customer orders from stock and preparing them for shipment.
- Labeling materials with identifying information and tracking inventory levels.
- Opening containers and recording the quantities of materials received or distributed.
- Weighing or counting items to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Arranging stock parts in a specified order for assembly by other team members.
- Utilizing computer systems to maintain records and generate reports based on customer specifications.
- Driving and operating vehicles, including forklifts and trucks, to transport items within the warehouse and to various locations.
- Completing requisition forms to order supplies and maintaining accurate inventory records.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or equivalent is required; one to three months of related experience or training is preferred.
LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence. Proficient in basic mathematical operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Forklift certification is required. Familiarity with warehouse management systems and training programs is beneficial.
PROBLEM-SOLVING ABILITY
Ability to address practical issues and interpret various instructions in different formats.
