Our expected salary range is $116,100 to $129,000, contingent on experience, in addition to a thorough benefits package that includes bonuses and 401(k) contributions.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Initial License Trainee (ILT) will undergo a blend of classroom education, simulator training, and practical experience to develop the essential skills and knowledge required for qualification as a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO). Upon successful completion of the training program, the candidate will be fully licensed by the NRC to oversee operations within the reactor control room.
- Completion of the Fundamentals Phase, Simulator Certification, and acquisition of SRO status (80%)
- Dedicated study and field experience to achieve licensed status (10%)
- Participation in project work, outage assignments, or other duties as assigned to support site operations (10%)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct oversight of the operations at Constellation Energy's Nuclear Power Generating Station, guiding Reactor Operators in managing plant operations and Equipment Operators in field activities.
- Authorize maintenance and testing procedures to ensure equipment integrity.
- Implement Emergency Operating Procedures and direct necessary actions to stabilize the plant during emergencies or abnormal situations.
- Evaluate and address issues, findings, and requests from both internal and external sources.
- Oversee special projects as designated by the Operations Director or Operations Managers.
- Review and update Emergency Operating Procedures and Abnormal Operating Procedures to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
- Conduct reviews of design and license modifications for procedural impacts and support outages and special projects.
- Analyze system documentation, including P&ID and design descriptions.
- Provide operability assessments for systems during off-normal conditions.
- Assist in the development of refueling sequences and ensure systems are prepared for shutdown and refueling operations.
- Direct operating shift personnel in performing plant duties, including standing watch on rotating 12-hour shifts and coordinating the operation of the nuclear power plant's systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and Basic Math and Science Test (BMST) pre-employment assessments
- Completion of a FLS Leadership Assessment
- Meet or exceed one of the following criteria:
- 1 year of Reactor Operator license at a comparable facility or 1.5 years at a non-comparable facility.
- 1.5 years or more in a role equivalent to Reactor Operator (or Supervisor) at a military reactor.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, or physical sciences, with over 1.5 years as a qualified non-licensed operator or a supervisory role in relevant fields.
