Statistical Quality Control Expert

Surge Staffing is hiring a Statistical Quality Control Expert to join our team. As a key member of our quality management system, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of materials and products through various inspection techniques.
Estimated Salary: $16-18 per hour, increasing upon hire based on experience.
About the RoleYou will collaborate with operations, suppliers, and customers to address quality challenges, utilizing statistical problem-solving and corrective action methodologies. You will also conduct inspections of incoming materials, work in progress, and final products using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other specialized equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Problem Solving & Corrective Actions:
- Collaborate with operations employees, suppliers, and customers to resolve quality issues using statistical problem-solving techniques and corrective action methodologies.
- Inspection & Testing:
- Conduct inspections of incoming materials, work in progress, and final products using precision tools.
- Gauge Calibration System:
- Implement and maintain an effective gauge calibration system to ensure accurate measurements and reliability of inspection equipment.
- Quality Management System (QMS):
- Assist management in the maintenance and continuous improvement of key processes within the Quality Management System.
- Process Improvement:
- Provide input to the quality management team to identify opportunities for process improvements and help implement solutions that enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Monitor Quality Metrics:
- Monitor and analyze results-based quality metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience: Previous experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, ideally within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of precision measurement tools, statistical analysis software, and quality inspection methods.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems, continuous improvement practices, and corrective action processes.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot inconsistencies and defects in materials and finished products.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external suppliers and customers.
