Position Overview

This role involves assisting in surgical procedures as part of a dedicated surgical team, ensuring the availability of instruments and supplies in accordance with established protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support surgical operations by providing instruments and supplies as needed, while responding effectively to emergency situations.
  • Adhere to strict aseptic techniques by preparing and maintaining a sterile environment.
  • Prepare the operating room by organizing instruments, surgical trays, and necessary equipment for various procedures.
  • Conduct post-surgery cleanup by disposing of contaminated instruments and preparing them for sterilization.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are operational and ready for use.
  • Assist with patient care tasks, including patient preparation and operation of medical equipment as directed.
  • Foster positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff members.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including patient transport and assisting in the training of new personnel.
  • Enhance customer service experiences by demonstrating a commitment to quality care and service excellence.
Qualifications

Experience:

  • A minimum of 2000 hours of experience in an Operating Room setting or equivalent military experience within the last three years, demonstrating competency in scrubbing for various surgical procedures (excluding open heart surgery), or a recent graduate from an accredited Surgical Technician program or military equivalent within the last six months.

Education: Not applicable.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
Additional Information
  • This position requires participation in mandatory on-call duties.
  • Must be able to respond to on-call situations within a 30-minute timeframe.
  • Backup coverage is needed during weekends.
  • This position may be filled by either a Surgical Tech I or Surgical Tech II.
