Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to join our pathology team. The successful candidate will provide administrative support, including intake, quality assurance, communication, and charge entry, to ensure seamless lab operations.
Key Responsibilities- Process and intake specimens, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Input data into Electronic Medical Records Nextech, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Prepare slides for physician review, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Log and accession pathology reports, pulling charts for physician review.
- File slides and blocks, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Comply with safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Review slides and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with maintenance of quality control and quality assurance processes.
- Order laboratory supplies and store them appropriately.
- Assist with maintenance of current policies and procedures for lab functions.
- Input diagnosis codes to prepare final reports for pathologists.
- Perform other duties as required to ensure successful lab operations.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in a lab or medical office setting.
- Understanding of medical terminology is preferred.
- Associates degree is required.
