We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Dentist to join our faculty at East Carolina University, School of Dental Medicine. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of dental professionals.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that involves providing leadership and supervision of educational and clinical activities at our Community Service Learning Center (CSLC). You will work closely with our Associate Dean for Extramural Clinical Practices, Director of Community Dental Practices, and CSLC Director/Assistant Director to develop and supervise a state-of-the-art CSLC.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide high-quality dental care to patients at the CSLC, directly and while supervising students and residents.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers in the clinical setting.
- Mentor AEGD residents and fourth-year dental students, guiding their clinical education and community service activities.
- Develop and execute the annual budget related to the CSLC, ensuring its financial sustainability.
You will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations at the CSLC, managing all clinically-related patient matters, and supervising paid and volunteer clinical faculty as needed.
Additional ResponsibilitiesYou will also:
- Work with the Department Chair of General Dentistry and Director of the AEGD Program to facilitate consistency in clinical education and evaluation of fourth-year students and AEGD residents assigned to the CSLC.
- Participate in faculty meetings and designated dental school activities required of all full-time faculty members.
- Maintain current dental skills and practice general dentistry consistent with the philosophy of the school.
- Identify solutions to local access to healthcare needs and coordinate community/regional outreach and health promotion programs.
