We are in search of a seasoned professional to join our organization as a Water Operations Supervisor. This role will support our Water Utility Operations and will require extensive knowledge and expertise in water and wastewater utility management, emphasizing technical proficiency, leadership, and strategic oversight.

Candidates must be located within a reasonable commuting distance to the operational areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and lead our Water Utility Operations teams, fostering cultural initiatives and exemplifying change leadership, while promoting succession planning and integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) best practices.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations and maintenance of water distribution, treatment, and wastewater collection systems, ensuring uniformity in operations management across our facilities.
  • Make informed technical and managerial decisions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and oversee special projects, ensuring alignment with the broader organizational objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance on operational matters to internal teams and external stakeholders, including consultants, regulatory bodies, and municipal officials.
  • Address field or administrative challenges through site visits, interpreting construction documents, analyzing issues, and communicating solutions to operations teams.
  • Lead operations teams by providing direction and support, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all team members, while spearheading training and development initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to local regulations, state laws, and federal guidelines.
  • Represent the organization to external partners and effectively communicate information, including participation in regulatory activities.
  • Make financial recommendations for capital enhancements, monitor progress towards fiscal goals, and adjust plans as necessary.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in the water utility sector.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Possess or be able to obtain relevant operator certifications.
  • Strong leadership skills with a commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging workplace culture.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to interpret technical reports, maps, drawings, research documents, construction plans, and legal texts.
  • Proficiency in general mathematics, advanced algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Strong technical writing abilities for reports, budgets, project updates, and correspondence.
