Position Overview
This role is primarily focused on delivering comprehensive Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to children of military personnel and their families, both on and off military installations. The responsibilities encompass non-medical counseling, educational presentations on health and wellness, and consultations with parents, educational institutions, and military command regarding behavioral health matters affecting youth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver non-medical, short-term, solution-oriented counseling directly to children and youth of military families, including assessment, brief counseling, action planning, and resource referrals.
  • Support staff and personnel at educational institutions and community programs, providing training and guidance to parents.
  • Conduct health and wellness presentations, participate in health fairs, and engage in other community activities focused on youth.
  • Document counseling activities daily using digital platforms to ensure accurate reporting while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Establish a visible presence within schools, ensuring availability to children, youth, and staff while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with community resources that cater to children and youth, ensuring appropriate linkages.
  • Collaborate with Points of Contact (POC) to deliver CYB services tailored to the needs of the installation and its facilities.
  • Manage duty to warn and restricted reporting situations in accordance with established protocols, consulting with supervisors as necessary.
  • Engage in regular communication with supervisors and participate in individual and group supervision to discuss trends and issues.
  • Respond to critical incidents and special requests as directed by POC, adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement initiatives, and other relevant activities as assigned.

Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited program in a relevant field such as social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling. A valid, unrestricted counseling license from a recognized authority is required, along with a minimum of two years of post-master's supervised clinical experience. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with military families and respond to urgent situations across various environments.

Additional requirements include the ability to navigate military installations, compliance with site-specific requirements, proof of U.S. citizenship, fluency in English, and the capacity to develop trusting relationships with diverse populations. Successful candidates must pass background checks and hold a valid U.S. state vehicle operator's license.
