POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Sanitation Services Associate is tasked with ensuring a hygienic, secure, and hazard-free environment for patients, visitors, and healthcare personnel.

This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties aimed at providing a safe and sanitary atmosphere in accordance with the facility's Infection Control and Safety Standards.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform cleaning and disinfection of patient accommodations, including beds, furnishings, restrooms, and showers.

- Following a patient's discharge, in addition to the above, strip the room, properly dispose of linens and waste, clean and disinfect the bed, frame, mattress, and pillow, and remake the bed, adhering to established Policies and Procedures for discharge units and Terminal Cleaning.

- Sweep, scrub, clean, vacuum, wash, dust, and polish designated areas as per schedule or special requirements.
- Sanitize treatment and examination rooms, clean surfaces and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness in staff areas, administrative offices, hallways, utility rooms, tiles, windows, blinds, furniture, mirrors, fixtures, walls, doors, and refrigerators.
- Empty waste receptacles and restock supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
- Ensure the supply cart is well-stocked and organized, maintaining a neat workspace and documenting daily and weekly cleaning activities.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or Equivalent

CERTIFICATIONS:
Must adhere to regulatory requirements and any necessary certifications, including compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as standards set by accrediting organizations. This includes:
  • Following the facility's Infection Control protocols and training.
  • Complying with OSHA safety regulations in the workplace.
