Job Summary

The Housekeeping Supervisor is a key member of the hotel operations team, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and service in our guest rooms and public areas. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will work closely with the Housekeeping Manager to oversee the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including supervising housekeeping staff, inspecting rooms, and performing cleaning duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise Housekeeping Staff: Lead and motivate a team of housekeeping staff to ensure they are meeting the highest standards of cleanliness and service.
  • Inspect Rooms: Conduct regular room inspections to ensure that all guest rooms and public areas are clean and in good repair.
  • Cleaning Duties: Perform cleaning duties in all areas of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
  • Partner with Housekeeping Manager: Work closely with the Housekeeping Manager to recruit, develop, and manage housekeeping staff, as well as to ensure that the housekeeping department is running efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory and Maintenance: Assist with inventory and maintenance of linen and room supplies, as well as commercial laundry supplies and equipment.
  • Lost and Found: Manage procedures for lost and found items.
  • Teamwork and Quality Service: Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent plus two years housekeeping experience, including some supervisory training/experience.
  • Experience: Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred.
  • Language: Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.
  • Skills: Reading and writing abilities required for documentation, ordering supplies, and receiving instructions. Mathematical skills, including basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variances. Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities.
  • Physical Demands: Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility. Will be required to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals. Carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds.
