Essential Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Student Safety Supervisor is to ensure the well-being of students as they navigate street crossings at designated areas. This role requires the individual to wear a safety vest provided by the district and to utilize a STOP sign during all assigned shifts.
Classification: Student Safety Supervisor
Employment Requirements:
Applicants must complete a mandatory training program and successfully pass an assessment prior to commencing employment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be prepared to work in various weather conditions. Independence and effective communication skills are essential, along with a genuine enjoyment of working with youth.
Key Functions:
To fulfill this role effectively, the individual must be capable of performing all essential duties competently. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands associated with this position require the employee to frequently stand, walk, and use hands to manage a portable stop sign. Continuous hand strength is necessary, and the employee may need to bend or twist frequently while performing duties.
Work Environment:
The work environment is characterized by moderate noise levels, including traffic and residential sounds. The employee will be required to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, and may need to navigate surfaces that could be icy or snowy.
