About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Content Knowledge Graph team within Data Science & Engineering. As a member of this team, you will work on a diverse tech stack to build insightful tools, apps, services, and libraries that describe the entities, interactions, and usage patterns across the Netflix Knowledge Graph.

Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and operate API layers that support various front-end user experiences. You will collaborate closely with other Data Engineers, Machine Learning Engineers, Scientists, and business analysts to build scalable access patterns for them.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from building new services and tools to developing easy-to-use data access patterns for knowledge graphs. You will also be responsible for evaluating new technologies and approaches to streamline and improve our rapid application development tooling and conventions.

Requirements

We are looking for a talented individual with a strong background in software engineering, data systems, and knowledge graphs. You should have experience in designing, building, and operating API layers that support various front-end user experiences. Proficiency in JavaScript, React, or other similar technologies is a must. Experience with GraphQL and Python or Java is a big plus.

You should be comfortable working with SQL and using big data technologies like Hive, Presto, Spark, Iceberg, etc. on medium to large-scale data. You should also be willing to learn and own all areas of the software lifecycle: design, development, test, deployment, operation, and support.

What You Will Do

You will work on a diverse tech stack to build insightful tools, apps, services, and libraries that describe the entities, interactions, and usage patterns across the Netflix Knowledge Graph. You will also be responsible for building intuitive user interfaces backed by data in offline systems and APIs.

You will evaluate new technologies and approaches to streamline and improve our rapid application development tooling and conventions. You will also learn new systems and tools as the Netflix platform and ecosystem evolve.
