Role Overview: The Obstetric Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering safe and effective patient care through the nursing process, which encompasses assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves providing direct patient care within the established scope of practice and guiding patient and family education while overseeing the activities of other nursing staff. The RN will uphold the standards of care in the Birthplace, ensuring the well-being of both mothers and newborns during the antepartum and postpartum phases.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.
- Basic Fetal Monitoring certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification is required within 12 months.
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification is preferred.
