Job Title: Specimen Collector I

The Specimen Collector I is a critical role within Aegis Sciences Corporation, responsible for collecting biological specimens at client sites for scientific testing. This position requires a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the integrity of the collection process, ensuring the accuracy and quality of specimens.
  • Ensure the Chain of Custody is maintained, with proper labeling and sealing of samples.
  • Utilize Electronic Lab Requisitions (ELR) for sample submissions and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns from clients and patients.
  • Complete required Compliance Training, including HIPAA and annual Lease Agreements.
  • Comply with all applicable safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Order supplies and manage budget with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager.
  • Verify insurance information through Passport as needed and request payment from patients (where applicable).
  • Maintain regular communication with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager, supporting marketing and sales objectives.
  • Participate in process improvements, including process definition, measurement analysis, and implementation of controls.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and extreme confidentiality.
  • Experience in the medical field is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential to success in this role.
  • Positive approach and attitude in patient interactions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work on multiple tasks without sacrificing quality, attention to detail, and ability to interact with staff at all levels.
  • Basic computer knowledge, including sending, receiving, and monitoring emails, basic understanding of website navigation, and ability to maintain and enter usernames/password.
Work Schedule:
  • Part-time, up to 25 hours per week.
  • Monday-Friday: 8:30am-1:30pm.
