Qualifications:

Education:
Completion of a technical school program or possession of an engineering degree.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in testing and evaluating electrical power systems across low, medium, and high voltage categories.
Certification as a NETA or NICET technician, or equivalent training from a utility, manufacturer, or other technical institutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and analyze electrical one-line diagrams.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems, including start-up and commissioning tasks.
  • Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various electrical distribution equipment, including:
    • Automatic Transfer Switches
    • Circuit Breakers
    • Conductors
    • Relays
    • Starters
    • Switchgears
    • Transformers
  • Perform power system studies, including Short Circuit & Coordination, Arc Flash, and Load Flow analyses.
  • Utilize infrared thermography for equipment diagnostics.
  • Prepare detailed electronic reports promptly following project completion.
Essential Skills:

Technical Proficiency:
Strong computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Communication:
Effective written and verbal communication skills to foster relationships with management and clients.

Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel 40-50% of the time, with compensated travel time and weekends at home when travel is necessary.

Training and Certifications:

Preferred:
Certification as a NETA technician.

Knowledge:
Strong understanding of NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing Specifications, NFPA70B, and relevant Industry Codes & Standards.

Safety Training:
Training in OSHA Electrical Safety and NFPA70E safety guidelines.

Current knowledge of NEC, NFPA-70E, Electrical Classifications, IEEE/ANSI, and other applicable design standards and guidelines.
