Position Overview:

Midstate Radiology Associates is seeking a dedicated and skilled MRI Technologist for our Cheshire Imaging Location. This is a full-time position with a 1st shift schedule.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation: We offer a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience, ranging from $32.00 to $57.00 per hour. A sign-on bonus of up to $10,000.00 is available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct diagnostic MRI scans, ensuring the selection of appropriate techniques based on patient age and medical condition to produce high-quality cross-sectional images.
  2. Assist in complex MRI procedures, maintaining sterile techniques and ensuring the production of accurate images for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  3. Initiate intravenous access and administer contrast media as per established protocols to support diagnostic processes.
  4. Adhere to MRI safety policies and maintain equipment in optimal working condition, including cleaning and disinfecting after each use.
  5. Demonstrate annual competencies related to patient care and examination procedures, tailored to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
  6. Review physician orders and patient requisitions for accuracy to ensure the correct procedures are performed.
  7. Document relevant patient and examination information, archiving images for future reference.
  8. Prepare examinations for radiologist interpretation, ensuring proper identification and processing of images.
  9. Perform routine quality assurance testing on MRI equipment to uphold high performance standards.
  10. Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to provide exceptional service through communication and teamwork.
  11. Provide clinical guidance and instruction to students, fostering their understanding of policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved radiology program.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • CT state license and CPR certification may be required.
  • Continuing education credits as mandated by licensure.

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a radiologic technologist.
  • Associate's or Applied Science Degree in a related field.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in radiological technology with a focus on anatomy and medical principles.
  • Understanding of patient care standards and quality assurance practices.
  • Strong customer service skills and adherence to OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to operate MRI equipment and manage patient flow efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills with patients and medical staff.
  • Capability to respond calmly in emergencies and maintain confidentiality of patient records.

Additional Information:

Flexibility to rotate on night, weekend, and holiday schedules may be required. This position may involve physical lifting and walking.
