Role Summary:
The Registered Pharmacist is responsible for delivering prompt, efficient, and courteous service to customers. This role involves filling and verifying prescriptions while providing patient counseling in compliance with all applicable regulations. Additionally, the pharmacist will assist in managing the pharmacy's inventory, including controlled substances, on a regular basis.

District Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Pharmacy Department Manager, Pharmacy Supervisor

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy Clerk, Delivery Personnel, and Pharmacy Interns

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver exceptional customer service by demonstrating empathy and patience in all interactions. Engage with customers warmly, making an effort to remember their names and preferences.

Assist customers by:

  • Guiding them to desired products
  • Retrieving items that are out of reach
  • Helping with heavy item handling
  • Documenting and relaying customer feedback
  • Enhancing the overall shopping experience

Answer phone calls promptly, providing helpful and friendly assistance to callers. Participate in controlled substance inventory management as required.

Support inventory control by maintaining stock levels, processing orders, verifying invoices, and entering data into the pharmacy system. Engage in employee training and development activities.

Fill and verify prescriptions while adhering to regulatory standards. Assist in reconciling third-party accounts and promote pharmacy services within the community.

Ensure compliance with security protocols and quality assurance programs. Take charge of the department in the absence of the pharmacy manager, ensuring that customers receive timely and respectful service.

Maintain a professional appearance, including a clean lab coat and name tag, and communicate regularly with the pharmacy manager regarding any procedural updates or issues.


Secondary Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other departments to promote wellness initiatives and pharmacy services. Provide assistance in various store areas as needed and undertake additional job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Must possess a degree in pharmacy and hold a valid pharmacy license. Continuing education is required to maintain licensure. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, along with the ability to administer immunizations.

Physical Requirements:

Must be capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds frequently. Visual acuity is necessary for tasks requiring close vision, depth perception, and color differentiation.

Physical activities include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.


Work Environment:
This role typically involves a fast-paced retail environment, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Occasional exposure to hazardous materials may occur during specific pharmacy operations.

Equipment Utilized:
Pharmacy software, cash register, ordering units, scales, scanners, calculators, telephones, fax machines, and copiers.

Maintains strict confidentiality of customer medical information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Acknowledges the risks associated with handling hazardous drugs and commits to following all safety protocols.
