About the Role

Briarcrest Veterinary Clinic is a dynamic small animal practice in West Houston, seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures, including preparation, anesthesia, and recovery
  • Perform venipuncture, catheterization, and other medical procedures as needed
  • Conduct in-clinic lab tests, including blood work and urinalysis
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and other treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to veterinarians
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, client communication, and record-keeping
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest veterinary medical techniques and technologies
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a veterinary technician or assistant
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary medical terminology
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds and stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to use a computer and perform basic data entry tasks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with electronic medical records and practice management software
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and anatomy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
