Position Overview:

The Precision Grinder plays a crucial role in executing grinding tasks on components as specified in technical drawings. This position entails setting up and managing grinding machines in line with established protocols while performing material removal from machining processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Input precise data into job tracking and quality assurance software
  • Fulfill traceability obligations
  • Conduct inventory activities as directed by the supervisor
  • Thoroughly document all tasks and records
  • Execute material removal processes according to design specifications
  • Grind entry and exit areas to achieve a smooth finish
  • Repair or smooth out visible imperfections
  • Trim and grind all edges as per specifications
  • Maintain, clean, and install wheels and discs utilized in the grinding process
  • Initiate, test, and monitor grinding operations to ensure optimal performance
  • Utilize inspection tools effectively and log measurements
  • Plan, organize, and conduct grinding bench operations safely and efficiently
  • Capable of grinding materials to meet specifications
  • Verify cut lengths on components in accordance with design specifications

Safety Considerations & Physical Requirements:

  • Employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods
  • This role requires physical effort, including lifting and operating machinery
  • Work environment may involve exposure to various elements and noise
  • Employee is required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: Relevant experience is preferred

  • Ability to read and understand instructions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Willingness to adapt to varying work hours as needed
  • Proficient in mathematics and blueprint interpretation
  • Ability to adhere to detailed instructions
