Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Observation Specialist to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct observation and monitoring services to patients, utilizing digital 2-way audio devices and patient monitoring software.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care and address any safety concerns that may arise.
  • Participate in hand-off of pertinent information and behavior about assigned patients, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards, contributing to a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams, fostering a culture of compassion and respect.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Familiarity with healthcare environment preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive for work-related purposes.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within three months of hire.
