Job Summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care that supports the mission, values, and philosophy of Pharmacy Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • IV Preparation and Management: Prepare all IV admixtures in strict accordance with established guidelines, handle and prepare chemotherapeutic agents using the appropriate precautions in the Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC), and respond to special admixture requests.
  • Inventory Control: Communicate special or urgent inventory needs to the buyer, clean and document cleaning of horizontal laminar flow hood, Biological Safety Cabinet contiguous admixture areas, and shelving areas, and ensure proper medication storage to prevent premature degradation or expiration.
  • Medication Delivery: Deliver medications to and accurately place medications in Pyxis MedStations, exchange medication cassettes within designated time frames, and respond to special delivery requests.
  • Medication Safety and Use: Participate in surveillance initiatives, proactively identify potential medication safety improvement opportunities, and demonstrate awareness of medication safety communications delivered by pharmacy management and safe medication practice pharmacists.
  • Processes Medication Orders: Adhere to all legal and pharmacy procedures, prioritize new orders/requests, and accurately prepare and label first and subsequent doses for pharmacist check prior to dispensing.
  • Supply Maintenance: Demonstrate consistent commitment to efficient pharmacy operations, prioritize and accomplish fill list related workload, and sustain a high level of accuracy by consistently selecting, ordering, and restocking the correct medication, dosage, and strength.
Requirements
  • California Pharmacy Technician License (TCH) - CA State Board of Pharmacy - REQUIRED
  • Other Education pursuant to licensure requirement
  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent - PREFERRED
  • 1 Year experience in hospital pharmacy environment - PREFERRED
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board - PREFERRED
