Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician

Telecare Corporation is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician to join our team at La Casa Mental Health Rehabilitation Center. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with mental health needs.
Job Summary:The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician will provide services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment, including medications, as prescribed by the physician. You will also provide documentation to the Medical Director and Treatment Team of response to treatment and notify all parties of clinical changes in condition.
Responsibilities:- Administer medications and treatments to clients
- Provide documentation to the Medical Director and Treatment Team
- Notify all parties of clinical changes in condition
- Monitor the activities and documentation of Mental Health Workers (MHWs) on the assigned wing
- Coordinate and participate in counting medications and giving report at the beginning and end of each shift
- Complete the admission documentation, including the problem list and the I.D. note
- Complete the discharge documentation, including the discharge orders and the discharge medication and clothing
- Transcribe physician orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Review all medical and psychological reports and inform the physician and nursing administrator of any abnormalities found in the client's condition or laboratory reports
- Complete the twenty-four hour Supervisors Report and the Charge Nurse's Report each shift
- One (1) year of experience in psychiatric nursing in a skilled nursing facility or an acute hospital is preferred
- Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician program and current license by the State of California is also required
- A valid CPR Certificate is also required
- Necessary skills include a demonstrated understanding of psychiatric illness, Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles, knowledge of psychotropic medications, and knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the delivery of mental health services in the State of California
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Psychiatric Technician will be required to work in a variety of settings, including the hospital, the community, and the client's home. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
