Perioperative Resource Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Perioperative Resource Nurse to join our team at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate unit education and training for OR staff on perioperative workflow, inventory, and care of supplies and instrumentation.
- Develop strong relationships with physicians, vendors, and healthcare providers to ensure effective communication in patient care.
- Serve as a liaison between ancillary departments, clinical specialists, physicians, and patients to ensure efficient patient flow for perioperative patients.
- Assist in managing and coordinating the effective scheduling of surgery among the OR suites in collaboration with management and Centralized Scheduling.
- Participate in performance improvement activities/initiatives regarding surgery by identifying, presenting, and leading improvements in surgery or patient safety-related processes.
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Three years registered nurse experience in an operating room setting.
- Six months of previous leadership experience as a charge or coordinator.
- RN-Registered Nurse - Texas State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days.
- BLS-Basic Life Support (AHA).
- ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA).
- PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA).
- NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation.
- CNOR-Certified Operating Room Nurse (CCI).
