Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to join our team at Advantage Care Health Centers. As a Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric services to our clients, including outpatient evaluations and medication management. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric services to clients, including outpatient evaluations and medication management
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals experiencing symptoms of a behavioral health disorder
  • Prescribe, recommend, and discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders
  • Collaborate with guardians, relatives, and significant others on clients' conditions and treatment when clinically appropriate
  • Examine or order laboratory or diagnostic tests for clients to provide information on general physical conditions and mental disorders
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of medical records, including assessment, progress notes, outcome measures, and billing entries
  • Confers with professional staff and other agencies/providers regarding care and treatment for patients receiving psychiatric service
Requirements
  • Medical degree conferred by an accredited college or university required
  • Board Certification and New York State licensure required
  • 24 Continued Medical Education (CME) credits per credentialing cycle (2 years)
  • Healthcare Provider CPR/AED Certification
  • Prior experience with IDD/ASD population preferred
  • Experience with community healthcare operations and familiarity with Federally Qualified Health Care organizations preferred
  • Strong ability to support the Medical Director to provide excellent quality of care to patients required
  • Strong oral, written, and organizational skills required
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party billing requirements required
  • Familiarity and ability to efficiently navigate EHR, experience with ECW a plus
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulatory requirements required
  • National Provider Identifier
  • Child/adolescent or geriatric experience a plus
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with flexibility in work schedule, with work hours falling between 8:00am-8:00pm. This work can be performed both in-person or hybrid. Full remote work is subject to change due to regulations. Locations are in Brookville and Freeport.
