Paralegal - Insurance Defense

Vaco is seeking a skilled Paralegal to join our team in the Insurance Defense sector. As a Paralegal, you will provide administrative support to a team of attorneys, assisting with legal research, document preparation, and case management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research to support legal proceedings, formulate defenses, and initiate legal action.
  • Assist lawyers with investigating facts, preparing legal documents, and researching legal precedent.
  • Maintain the Managing Partners' and other firm attorneys' calendars, scheduling client conferences, teleconferences, and court appearances.
  • Support attorneys, law clerks, and management staff with communication, information gathering, and delegated assignments.
  • Research and analyze law sources, including statutes, judicial decisions, and legal articles.
  • Assist lawyers in preparing for transactional closings, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in pre-law, administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • General Liability, 1st and 3rd Party Property experience (required).
  • Experience in scheduling, pleadings, and court filings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • E-Filing portal experience.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Able to organize and manage large amounts of tasks, schedules, and information.
  • Able to attend trial by themselves.
  • Familiarity with counties.
