About the Role

Battle Motors is seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join our dynamic Engineering team. As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for creating full 3-D models in SolidWorks, creating detail drawings, preparing Bills of Material, and preparing ECNs following the Change Management Process in place.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and revise CAD models and drawings of parts for production using SolidWorks and other software systems as required.
  • Proactively participate in a cross-functional, team-based environment.
  • Create simple layouts of parts and assemblies for review.
  • Create drawings of design concepts for presentation to current or potential customers.
  • Ensure designs meet design quality, supply, and serviceability requirements.
  • Confirm that all designs are complete and fully documented in models, drawings, and Bills of Material.
  • Collaborate with and provide support for projects led by other departments as assigned/prioritized.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
Requirements
  • Associates degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience required.
  • 3+ years of practical engineering experience preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of common engineering standards for mobile equipment product development (3D-modeling, design, drafting, GD&T) required.
  • Meaningful experience required in one or more of the following technical areas: mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, or other specific engineering techniques and development processes.
  • Knowledge of machined steel fabrication manufacturing techniques and processes, as well as assembly techniques for mobile equipment strongly preferred.
  • Excellent team working and time management skills necessary.
  • Application knowledge of mobile equipment, preferably of heavy truck chassis and systems preferred.
Work Environment

This position will adhere to the Battle Motors Environmental Health and Safety Program by following all safety rules, procedures, practices, training, and safe use of equipment; this includes use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. This individual will work in a way that stresses the importance of preventing injury, accidents, or illnesses to themselves or co-workers by correcting or reporting unsafe situations, incidents, or occurrences to their supervisor immediately.
