As a Psychiatric Nurse Resident, you'll work with individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, mood swings, psychosis, or trauma-impacted conditions. Our team provides 24-hour intervention, including psychiatric assessment, medication management, individual/group/family therapy, and connections to community resources.

We work closely with the Emergency department, which serves as the access point for Behavioral Health admissions. Our patients receive a medical screening exam and stabilizing treatment before being transferred to the Marian Center or discharged with community-based resources.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate nurse who is passionate about providing high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs. As a Psychiatric Nurse Resident, you'll have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment that fosters growth and development.

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
  • Licensure: Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
  • Physical requirements/demands:
    • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
    • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
    • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

Mercy has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
