Job Overview

TLS Management Inc, a federal contracting organization with a focus on JCI Building Automation Systems (BAS), is seeking multiple BAS Technicians/Applications Specialists. Positions are available in various healthcare facilities and may require travel to different job sites across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proficient in programming and troubleshooting HVAC Controls products from leading brands such as Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Siemens, Delta, Distech, Carrier, ALC, and Andover.
  • Familiarity with BAS communication protocols, including BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, N2, P1, Modbus, and LON.
  • Ensure compliance with all TLS and customer safety standards, providing safety leadership and guidance to all technicians and subcontractors on TLS work sites.
  • Assist the Service Manager or Customer Service Agents in identifying and scheduling personnel with the appropriate skills for repairs or installations.
  • Engage in self-directed learning to enhance and maintain technical expertise.
  • Complete all required training and certifications in a timely manner.
  • Install and inspect equipment to ensure adherence to contract specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Manage assigned Electronic Systems service calls, accurately estimating field labor hours.
  • Ability to interpret complex building architectural, electrical documents, and mechanical drawings, as well as project plans and specifications.
  • Pass a criminal background check, pre and post-employment drug screenings, and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean DMV record.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the installation and servicing of Direct Digital Controls (DDC) BAS systems, including familiarity with servers and various operating systems. Proficient in Windows 10, Server 2016, and MS Office software. Understanding of Local Area Networks (LAN) systems.
  • Effective and professional communication skills with both internal and external customers.
  • Willingness to work overtime or travel as necessary.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including relays, motor contactors, transformers, DCV circuits, and ACV circuits.
  • Ability to utilize hand and power tools, as well as testing equipment such as multi-meters and digital analyzers.
  • Physical capability to move equipment/tools weighing up to 40 pounds and perform work at heights.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor during service emergencies.
  • Possession of one or more of the following certifications is preferred:
    • Certified JCI Metasys Technician
    • Certified Niagara Technician

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher in Electronics or HVAC technical coursework.
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in Commercial HVAC.
  • Knowledge of Niagara programming, Metasys, and/or Johnson CCT programming applications is advantageous.

Compensation: $40 - $55 per hour
