Position Overview:

In this role, you will engage in diverse and complex tasks aimed at enhancing the manufacturing system and improving product manufacturability and cost efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams on new product initiatives will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. You will also be tasked with selecting, assessing, and qualifying materials for new process introductions while providing technical support to design engineers and technicians to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate daily manufacturing operations by offering the necessary tools, information, and guidance for consistent, high-quality production.
  • Possess a solid understanding of AS9100, IPC-610, and J-STD-001 workmanship standards.
  • Provide support for SMT (Surface-Mount Technology) machinery.
  • Utilize strong analytical skills to identify problems and implement effective root cause corrective actions.
  • Analyze and design methods, procedures, processes, layouts, fixtures, and tooling to support production needs.
  • Investigate and recommend manufacturing cost reduction and product enhancement initiatives.
  • Participate in reviews of customer specifications and statements of work.
  • Assess process change requests and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Evaluate current equipment capabilities and justify capital investments.
  • Conduct various cost analyses, including make/buy recommendations.
  • Create manufacturing operating instructions.
  • Develop and monitor manufacturing metrics to assess process health.
  • Evaluate non-conformances as part of the Material Review Board.
  • Develop training procedures for assemblers and operators in machine operations and assembly processes.
  • Provide customer support as required.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to mitigate quality issues during incoming inspections.
  • Develop ROI analyses to support capital equipment, new process development, and productivity enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years as a manufacturing engineer with relevant solder certification standards and experience with SMT machinery.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and AutoCAD.

Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information; therefore, only US persons will be considered.

  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
