Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our General Litigation group in our New York office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience handling general liability and property claims, with a strong background in negligence and premises cases.
Key Responsibilities- Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery, and ensure meticulous compliance with firm and client billing and reporting guidelines.
- Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences, and conduct complex legal research and discovery.
- Draft discovery demands and responses, motions, case evaluations summaries, settlement agreements, pleadings, and legal memoranda, adhering to client guidelines.
- Admission to the New York State Bar is required.
- 3-5 years of experience as an Attorney in a defense firm, with a focus on negligence and premises cases.
- Superior court knowledge and experience arguing cases, as well as exceptional case management and advocacy skills.
- Experience drafting briefs and pleadings, and taking and defending depositions.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, time management, and adherence to strict deadlines, with excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and driven, with a commitment to excellence, and proficiency in Westlaw and/or Lexis.
