Role Summary:
The Sushi Culinary Specialist is responsible for crafting side dishes and sushi selections for our patrons, adhering to precise portioning, recipes, and service protocols. This role primarily involves engaging with guests at the sushi bar while preparing dishes. The specialist will monitor and ensure proper portioning of sushi items and uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards at the sushi bar and with all related equipment.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a sushi chef is mandatory.
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during peak hours.
- Skills in entertaining and performing in front of guests are highly valued.
- Must work collaboratively as part of a team and appreciate the significance of each member's contribution to the guest experience.
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques and knowledge of the appropriate equipment is essential.
- Familiarity with industry standards regarding food storage and handling is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality sector is required.
- Where applicable, must possess a state and/or local food handlers card.
- Capability to walk, sit, and stand for extended periods is necessary.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age or comply with state regulations.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Culinary education is advantageous.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends is required. Overtime availability is also necessary.
