Job Summary

Channel Personnel Services is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to lead our production and warehouse team in a 24/7 operating environment. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and quality execution of the production schedule, as well as daily inbound, outbound, and warehouse transfer shipments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage plant manufacturing processes and shipping/warehouse processes to ensure consistent manufacturing of first-quality product and effective execution of daily shipping and receiving schedules in a safe work environment.
  • Ensure all production and warehouse employees strive to meet company standards for safety, quality, efficiency, and housekeeping.
  • Hire and provide consistent training for employees and manage personnel issues related to attendance, vacation scheduling, and disciplinary action.
  • Properly staff all departments within the function's scope of responsibility to efficiently meet production and shipping/receiving schedule requirements.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement activities in production and warehouse operations.
  • Lead shift supervisors, production engineers, and warehouse managers.
  • Coordinate production and shipping/receiving schedules with the supply chain team to ensure customer orders are met on time and in quality.
  • Coordinate required service times with maintenance to maintain all equipment at a safe and optimum performance.
  • Collaborate with technical service and quality managers in identifying quality issues and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Monitor work, alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions, control flow of work to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, tools, and equipment.
  • Provide prompt problem-solving for key issues, by root cause identification, containment, and issue resolution to ensure recurrence is avoided.
  • Continuously develop and advance employee training programs, paired with consistent training of all production and warehouse team members.
  • Manage, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Develop, track key KPIs for plant operations.
  • Ensure manufacturing systems comply with ISO certification requirements.
  • Operational expertise developed and maintained.
  • Responsiveness to customers - both internal and external.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably chemical/petrochemical engineering) or chemistry with more than 5 years of chemical or paper plant manufacturing experience in a management position.
  • Awareness and knowledge of process safety management in chemical plant operations is required.
  • Knowledge of chemistry, chemical process techniques, and basic mechanical equipment operation is required.
  • Knowledge of batch manufacturing process, utilities in a chemical plant.
  • Strong communication, organization, supervisory, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully drive significant change in an organization.
  • Process control (PLC), data analysis is preferred.
  • Multi-functional experience in manufacturing, technical, and business areas is preferred.
  • Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing / Continuous improvement exposure or training is preferred.
  • Background in operations, maintenance, basic tools, and equipment is preferred.
  • Process design knowledge of equipment is preferred.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
