As a Caregiver / Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and/or substance use needs to live their best lives. Your primary responsibility will be to provide support and assistance to individuals in their daily lives, helping them to achieve their goals and desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with health and safety procedures, ensuring the well-being of individuals in our care.
- Support individuals in developing their skills and abilities, promoting independence and community involvement.
- Provide emotional support and advocacy for individuals, helping them to navigate challenges and make informed decisions.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless support and care for individuals.
- Document and report on individual progress, outcomes, and any concerns or issues that may arise.
Requirements:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver's license (if required for transportation purposes).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to lift 30 pounds.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 70 pounds.
- Must be able to pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stop.
- Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Required to regularly stand and walk.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level, requiring work on hands, knees, bending, standing, and lifting.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
