Pangaea Command Construction is a leading provider of comprehensive construction solutions, specializing in managing projects across diverse sectors including hard infrastructure, communications infrastructure, datacenters, and storage solution buildouts.
We are currently seeking a Fiber Splicing Technician to join our team for various fiber communication projects throughout various job sites in Montana. As a trusted member of our team, you will be responsible for proper preparation and splicing of fiber optic cable within a telecommunications system.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and splice fiber optic cable within a telecommunications system.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of telecommunications network structure.
- Familiarize yourself with fiber optic cable, splice enclosures, and their functionality.
- Operate OTDR and fusion splicing equipment effectively.
- Read and interpret fiber matrices accurately.
- Analyze and troubleshoot problems efficiently.
**Requirements:**
- 2+ years of Fiber Optic construction/installation experience.
- Proficient in using fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment.
- Knowledge of applicable electronic equipment and specialty tools.
- Able to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
- General Computer Skills; Word, Power Point, Excel, Internet, e-mail, and industry software as required.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
**Additional Requirements:**
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be willing to travel throughout various locations in/out of state with some overnight stays as necessary.
- Must have a smart cell phone to clock in/out of mobile application.
- Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must possess a valid driver's license for the state in which you reside.
**Salary & Benefits:**
The estimated salary for this position is $30-$40 per hour. Our benefit package includes employer-paid health insurance, 50% paid dental/Vision plans, disability, critical illness, hospital, legal plan available, 401K with 4% matching, per diem for travel, paid Time Off & Sick Time.
**Physical Demands:**
- Able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
- Able to walk, sit, stand, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, carry, and lift as needed.
- Able to coordinate eyes, hands, feet, and limbs in performing skilled movement.
