Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering relevant health information.
- Perform laboratory procedures, such as strep tests and wound cultures, using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with procedures, such as pelvic exams and allergy testing.
- Administer medications, as ordered, and follow through with necessary procedures and test requests.
- Communicate effectively with patients, team members, and physicians to ensure smooth clinic flow.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited medical assistant program or 2 years of experience as a medical assistant preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 45 days of hire.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds and perform physical demands of the job.
