Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated RN to join our Emergency Medicine team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver high-quality patient care, assessing learning needs and implementing teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of patients, families, and other groups or disciplines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, delegating and managing nursing team resources to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Embody a customer-centric approach, adapting behavior to meet the specific needs of patients, including respect for privacy, effective communication, and permission-based interactions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes, embracing concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale.
Requirements
  • Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in clinical specialty area.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.
Work Environment

The incumbent works in a patient care area, exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue, with an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
