UNM Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to contribute to our Cancer Center, Infusion Suites. This role offers a full-time day shift opportunity.
Sign-On Bonus: $2,000
Salary Range: Minimum $33,800 - Midpoint $41,766*
*Compensation is based on relevant experience.
*Salary is calculated on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) basis, or 40 hours per week. Positions with less than 40 hours/week will be prorated accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant will perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks within a UNMMG Ambulatory Clinic. Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct patient services via phone and in-person.
- Conducting patient registration and verifying demographic information.
- Scheduling appointments and confirming insurance eligibility.
- Obtaining referrals and prior authorizations from insurance providers.
- Managing patient check-in/check-out processes and collecting co-pays.
- Gathering patient data and medical histories.
- Executing routine Medical Assistant functions.
To be considered for the Medical Assistant position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Medical Assistant Program with a Graduate Certificate.
- National Medical Assistant Certification or Registration within 6 months of hire.
- BLS certification.
Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required upon selection.
