Position Overview

UNM Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to contribute to our Cancer Center, Infusion Suites. This role offers a full-time day shift opportunity.

Sign-On Bonus: $2,000

Salary Range: Minimum $33,800 - Midpoint $41,766*

*Compensation is based on relevant experience.

*Salary is calculated on a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) basis, or 40 hours per week. Positions with less than 40 hours/week will be prorated accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant will perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks within a UNMMG Ambulatory Clinic. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct patient services via phone and in-person.
  • Conducting patient registration and verifying demographic information.
  • Scheduling appointments and confirming insurance eligibility.
  • Obtaining referrals and prior authorizations from insurance providers.
  • Managing patient check-in/check-out processes and collecting co-pays.
  • Gathering patient data and medical histories.
  • Executing routine Medical Assistant functions.
Qualifications:

To be considered for the Medical Assistant position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program with a Graduate Certificate.
  3. National Medical Assistant Certification or Registration within 6 months of hire.
  4. BLS certification.

Verification of education and licensure (if applicable) will be required upon selection.
